I adore all of these ideas for a 1950's Housewife themed Bridal Shower. Everything is so adorable! I've decided to compile some images and ideas I have for the theme. I think this would be really great for a vintage Bride to be, or even a modern Bride because it would be less expected! I love the red and turquoise color combo, I think these colors really fit the time period and theme.
You could invite all of the guests to 'Become the perfect housewife' with invitations like this...
I know I would be so excited to get an invitation to this Bridal Shower!
Decor is easy, pick up some turquoise table cloths, plates and napkins with moderate red accents. They did a great job at this 1950's themed shower!
I love how they used the wooden spoons and forks inside the napkins. Little touches can give a Bridal Shower a WOW factor!
Instead of serving a cake, serve cupcakes! Everything was Vanilla and Chocolate in the 1950's, so don't go with exotic flavors, instead make plain cupcakes with white icing and then have guests decorate them at a 'cupcake bar' have simple and easy toppings to put on the cupcakes (cherries, blue and red sprinkles, whip cream, black licorice etc..)
If you wanted to get fancy and REALLY cute, you could do a 'milkshake-cupcake' like these which are ADORABLE!!
Find out how to make them here
You can't have a Bridal shower without games! Check out this cute game. 'How to be a good housewife'
On the invitations you should tell guests to bring the oldest recipe card they have, make a recipe book using a basic binder, and some cardstock paper and embellishments. Decorate the book with die cut red and blue chipboard letters to match the color theme of the shower, when guests arrive they should glue the recipe into the book for the bride to be, this makes a great gift and an even better keepsake.
A great gift would be this book I found on Amazon.com! Mostly for amusement, but a fun read regardless!
To add to the fun, tell your guests to dress up in their best 1950's attire! Best dressed gets a prize basket filled with vintage 1950's candy!
Some cute attire ideas..
A 1950's themed Bridal Shower is a fun way to include people of all ages! Everyone loves to remember 'The good ol' days.' I love this era so much! Everything was done with class and grace. If any of you have had, or plan to have a 1950's bridal shower, What are your ideas?

Yay Danielle! They are SUPER cute. Are you having a 50's themed bridal shower? Make sure you post pix!
I'm assuming it's 50s themed, lol! I picked the invite out and my sister mentioned sticking to the theme so *fingers crossed* lol! I definitely will post pics!
Can you tell me where I can find that invite online???
Does anyone know where I would be able to find those square, scallop edge placemats? I have looked everywhere and can old find rectangular ones.
Wow!! These ideas are really awesome. Want to have this theme for my bridal shower at one of New York wedding venues. Loved everything here like cupcakes, table décor and would include these ideas in my party. Thanks for sharing them here.
